The biggest difference is the further telephoto reach you can get from a AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR lens as compared to the AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED VR II lens. Another difference is the lens elements each has. The NIKKOR 55-300mm lens has 2 ED elements as compared to only one ED element in the NIKKOR 55-200MM lens. If you are looking for a camera that offers sharp images in low-lit situations you may be interested in the 55-200mm lens, as it offers 4.0 stops of blur free handheld shooting compared to 3 stops for the 55-300mm lens. Both of these lenses have a lot to offer when it comes to color, clarity and performance and both use Nikon Vibration Reduction technology. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would wish I would have purchased the 55-300 instead of the 55-200mm. I use my camera to take pictures at football games and sometimes I am far away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you need more range to for the 300mm, the 200mm should work for most things.if you plan on shooting sports or nature the 400mm would help you but it's more expensive
