• The AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200MM F/4.5-5.6G ED VR II lens, while it will work on the FE, will not perform the same as it would for a DX or FX format DSLR. Because it is a G type lens, it will be limited to a minimum aperture and will have to be metered for exposure. Look for lenses that have an aperture ring similar to the AF Nikkor 20mm f/2.8D Wide-Angle. AF-type lenses that are not designated as G type lenses, such as the AF 20mm lens, will allow you to meter and achieve an appropriate aperture for the subject you are trying to capture.
