I have tried a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G on my camera for a white (borrowed it from a friend), but now I want to buy a similar lens of my own. I was wondering if I should buy this one? Aside from the obvious extra focal length - 300mm compared to 200mm - the incorporation of VR gives the 70-300 a huge advantage over the non-VR 55-200. VR stands for Vibration Reduction. It is Nikon's version of image stabilization. This will help prevent camera shake, most evident when shooting at longer focal length, therefore getting you sharper pictures.
