- Answer Yes, this lens will work with the D3400. In fact, any Nikon F-Mount lens will fit. However I do not believe the D3400 has a built in focus motor so auto focus will not work on lenses without this built in e.g. AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D.

- Answer I have no personal experience with the D5000; however, I checked my standard reference in these matters, Ken Rockwell at https://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/200-500mm.htm#compat. He says it is, so I would think that it is. You may find the weight of the lens heavy after handling the DX lenses. I’m using it on a D7500 at the present and compared to the 70-300, it is heavy.

QuestionUsing on D7000 body. The auto focus will only work if it is set far to the left (infinity) initially. If it is set far to the right, when I try to focus, the ring does not move. It isn't stuck as I can move it manually. What is wrong?

- Answer Yes, this will work with a D7500. The lens mounts for DX and and FX cameras are the same. This is an FX format lens, however, so the zoom range will be something like 300 - 750. I've read that it might not produce as sharp a picture on a DX camera. I have not verified that myself, though. Your f-stop will increase proportionately, too, if used on a DX format camera. For me, so far so good. I use it on an FX format camera and like the results so far.
