Q: QuestionWhat's the big difference between this lens and the 85mm 1.8? Obviously quality but is the 1000k difference worth the leap, or will the 1.8 do just fine?
Asked by KaliRoss.
- A:Answer The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G has a lower aperture setting, and thereby is faster than an f/1.8 lens. A lower aperture setting allows more light to pass through the diaphragm of the lens, creating more natural exposure and can help to create beautiful bokeh images in which the background is nicely blurred. The AF-S 85mm f/1.4G lens is updated from it's predecessor and has a Nano Crystal Coating to provide inform color balance and contrast while eliminating ghosting and lens flare. Q: QuestionIs this lens compatible with Nikon D7200?
Asked by Diana.
- A:Answer The Nikon D7200 is compatible with type G AF-S lenses such as the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G portrait lens. However, it is important to note that this lens is an FX format lens while the Nikon D7200 is a DX format camera. An FX lens image circle when projected on a DX sensor crops the image, and has the effect of magnifying the image by approximately 1.5x. An 85mm FX lens on a DX format camera will give you the equivalent angle of view of a 128mm lens on an FX camera.
