You can see that when it's on the tripod, I can't use the folding-out display screen unless I'm above the camera - fine for really short tripod use like close to the ground, but not "regular" tripod use. It looks like in the pictures of the new Coolpix B700 that you might be able to swing out the LCD display window and then go ahead and attach it to a tripod and have full use of the display?”

I use a manfrotto quick release. The display can be opened and fully adjusted while on a tripod/monopod. It would seem that it would work with most/all others, too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can swing out the LCD on the B700 while the camera is attached to a tripod via the camera's tripod mount. Since the LCD on the B700 tilts as well as articulate out and rotate in that position (swivel) - rather than the single tilt out of the COOLPIX L830.
