you can use both ways. When sunny i recommend you using the viewfinder as the LCD will be hard to look at. At night you can use the LCD. Using the LCD is nice when possible because you can see what happens when you alter the settings
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The D3300 has a Live View option for composing photos instead of using the Optical viewfinder. In addition, since the D3300 takes Full HD 1080p video, the LCD is used for that, exclusively.
