While faster lenses with wider apertures are extremely useful, you may find that the lens included in this kit will work out great for you as you learn how to get amazing sports shots. This camera is compatible with AF-S and AF-P type lenses and you can find the lens' maximum aperture by find the "f" number in the name of the lens. For instance the 70-300mm included in this kit has an maximum aperture range from f/4.5 to 6.3. Fast telephoto zoom lenses will have apertures of around f/2.8 but you may find them to be higher in price.
