If you are looking for a specialty lens just for long range capabilities, we can recommend you the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Super Telephoto Zoom Lens. Most Nikon Lenses that have zoom ranges usually will only go out to the 300mm mark, so this 200-500mm lens will give you a farther reach.
