“The NIkon website Specifications states it has built in GPS "GP-1A GPS" and a 1/4" Tripod Socket but the Best Buy description states it doesn't have either. Does it have these options or is the Best Buy Specifications incorrect.”

The Nikon D5500 DSLR camera is able to access GPS features when the Nikon GP-1a GPS Unit is attached and has a 1/4 inch (ISO 1222) standard tripod socket that fits any tripod with that same measurement.
