Yes, the Nikon D5500 DSLR camera does have the same selective color option that the Nikon D5300 DSLR camera does. To use this you would choose the selective color option from the effects menu and turn on live view. You will then pick and choose which colors will display in the black and white image by framing the color of choice and pressing the "OK" button. Additionally, a total of three colors can be chosen, and their values adjusted, before taking the image.
