No, the FTZ Mount adapter will not work on a D5600 or any other Nikon D series camera. This mount was designed specifically for the Mirrorless Z series to be able to use Nikkor F mount lenses.

It is designed for the new Z series mirrorless cameras to allow you to use any lenses you have for your D series Nikon which uses F type lenses.

No. If you are using F-mount lenses you don't need an adapter. If you are using Z mount lenses they cannot be adapted to a non-mirrorless Nikon camera.

This adapter is meant to match F mount lenses to Nikon Z camera bodies and would have no purpose on a D series camera.

I’m not sure because I haven’t tried using it backwards, but I’m not sure why you would want to use a z mount lens. There is no glass in this. It’s just an adapter.
