Since you can zoom much farther in, optically, with the COOLPIX L840. The camera has a specific MOON mode that zooms in to 855mm! We would recommend highly that you use a tripod or have the camera on the flat surface. The slower shutter speeds do not lend themselves to hand holding the camera.
