I think the Coolpix L840 is a great all around camera for anyone because it does great landscape pictures and portrait pictures and the zoom was awesome on taking pictures of the moon and night shoots in general. I would and have recommended to friends and family.. Thanks

I had the L820 till a deer jumped in front on my Harley at 60 in Montana. I didnt go down, but the camera stopped working. I take many pics, thousands, while riding w/ the club, it was an excellent camera for shots on the rides no matter the speed. They upgraded me to the L840 here & pics just not coming out the same. The "scene' selections, for automatic, work terrible. At Bike Week in Daytona, almost all the nighttime shots were blurred & out of focus on Auto where as the L820, adjusted automatically. Disappointed this one didnt perform as well. All other features, movies, stills in daytime, come out nice. This has wireless featurev to upload I havent tried as well as viewfinder seperates so you can raise overhead & take a vid or pic. But I'd rather have the L820 back without those two features. Pic is one of many nightime shots it didnt automatically adjust like the L820 did. Have too many of these type of night pics in motion. You can see the probs at night time below.

The pictures this Nikon takes are fantastic. It does have a bit of an issue where it will sometimes constantly focus because of items at different ranges in the picture causing a blur to occur with the final shot even though it can definitely get a very clear picture. I'm still trying to figure out how to manually adjust the focus instead of letting it auto-focus, so that'll make this much better at that point. However, the pictures it does take properly with the auto-focus are crisp and clear. It's got a great zoom as well that allows you to take pictures of distant objects while still retaining the clarity of up close shots. Definitely recommended for someone interested in seeing a good amount of detail in their shots compared to other point and shoot cameras that have very low detail and lots of blur problems.

I bought this camera for my daughters 13th birthday and she LOVES it! It's easy to use and has EVERYTHING at the palm of her hand! The upload to Facebook is an awesome feature!

While the camera lacks the manual settings of a DSLR, the picture quality is above average for a point-and-shoot camera. It is relatively easy to use.

It's a great camera. I'm still getting used to it like how to focus. But it's very easy to use. Down side is the app to download the pictures takes up a lot of phone battery. Just make sure to restart phone after using it and it closes the app just fine.

We bought this camera to use for my son's Senior year of HS. We wanted sown thing more then a phone photo. The price was right and this camera has great zoom. So far we like it a lot. A bit hard to learn because of the many options. That's not a bad thing, it just has a learning curve.

It does amazing shots even zoomed in. Perfect for vacation and everyday shots. The added features are just icing on the cake for the price, I bought it for my daughter and she took amazing pictures when we went to the park.

My daughter loves the camera. Our neighbor, who is a professional photographer reviewed our purchase and advised that it was a good buy. She enjoys using it and has posted many pictures on varies sites. It is the perfect camera for her. Definitely would recommend.

This camera is great for the everyday average person. Probably not for someone looking to be a professional photographer but it fulfills my needs for taking photos while traveling!

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. I have a Nikon d7100 and love it. She has a interest in photography and thought this was the perfect camera for her. Just an added bonus that it is purple her favorite camera.
