• The Nikon SB-500 AF Speedlight External Flash is able to use two 1.5 V LR6 (AA-size) alkaline batteries or two 1.2 V HR6 (AA-size) rechargeable NiMH batteries. 1.5 V R6 (AA-size) carbon-zinc batteries are not recommended for use with this product.
