- Answer The Nikon website has a compatibility chart, and yes, according to that chart, the SB-500 speedlight is compatible with the D50. However, since the D50 has an onboard flash, you can operate both at the same time unless the SB-500 is not used on the camera hot shoe.

- Answer Being able to trigger an SB-500 remotely is dependent on if your camera offers the Commander Mode Function found in the Custom Settings Menu. It will be in the Bracketing/Flash menu, under the option Flash Control for Built-in Flash/Optional Flash. To verify if your camera has this, please see the camera's manual. If you need assistance setting this up, please contact Nikon Customer Support.
