The image circle cast by the DX lens will not cover a full frame sensor, so the camera will crop out the outside edges of the frame, reducing the effective megapixels of the camera. The resulting image is about 10 megapixels for the Z6 in DX mode.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.AF-S and AF-P type DX lenses work with the Nikon Z6 by using the required Mount Adapter FTZ. Using an AF-S or AF-P type DX-format lens with the FTZ adapter and the full frame Z6 camera will automatically introduce a 1.5 crop factor, the same as it would when using a DX-format lens with an F-mount, full-frame (FX-format) camera. To learn more about the Nikon Mount Adapter FTZ and compatibility with F-mount lenses, please contact Nikon Support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does have an APS-C (DX) crop mode. Keep in mind, DX lenses would mean you’re effectively getting something like 15 megapixels of detail as opposed to the full 24 megapixel sensor. With the FTZ adapter most first party Nikon lenses will work and have surprisingly good results in focusing. I recommend the one-point AF mode with most F-Mount lenses however.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When a DX lens is mounted on the Nikon Z6 (using the required FTZ adapter), the camera will automatically change to DX crop mode, thereby reducing the image area to ~10.3 megapixels. I believe you can override this and force an FX image area but in most cases this will result in vignetting since the DX lenses are not designed to cover the entire FX sensor. I have not personally tried this as yet since most of my lenses are FX.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you get the ftz adapter you can use all Nikon lens. It has our cropping for dx lens
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a sigma 35mm f 1.4 ( full frame )and nikon 18-300 (DX) , it works well with the adaptor and do not see any difference when viewing on my pc. I guess the firmware of the Nikon and software works well with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Yes, the Z6 has an aption that adjust the camera to work with the DX lenses. Unfortunately, I do not have a DX lense to give you a better assessment.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes there's is an adjustment in camera and works well with DX lenses with the ZTF adapter, you still need the adapter
