• We are glad to assist you with your inquiry. We would like to inform you that this unit comes with a permanent filter. You may still use a #4 paper filter however we do not recommend using it in conjunction with the permanent filter as clogging and backing up of water and/or coffee in the filter basket can occur.

• No, you do not need to purchase additional coffee filters. The unit comes with a copper filter. You may purchase #4 coffee filters if you want to have paper filters for easy composting.
