We do suggest preheating the system for many of the functions. The suggested preheat time is 5 minutes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From the bit that I've used it, when pressure cooking, the screen will show "PRE" until it is fully pressurized, but you don't have to do anything prior to starting a program. Just put what you are cooking in, lock the lid down, choose your program, choose temperature & time (on some functions) & it does it's thing. Kind of that "set it & forget it" idea from my experience. As for the air fryer, you put the rack in the basket, add your food, close the lid & set the time & temperature & you are good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not have to preheat, but there are some "experts" that recommend it for some recipes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just add an extra minute or two to the time and that seems to cover the preheating part of it and cooking. So far (knock on wood) this method hasn't caused any cooking disasters for me.
