• Did you make sure the clamp is in right position? If it is open, it will release the pressure while cooking.

• I’m guessing either the lid wasn’t seated, or possibly the seal/vent control was open

• When setting it, you specify the time for it to pressure cook. Once you hit start, it’ll take some time for the pressure to build. Once the time is up, you either quick release the pressure or let the pressure release naturally. It all depends on what you’re cooking.
