• This system is a grill and does not offer dual layer cooking. You would be able to grill a steak and potatoes on the same grill using the same temperature.

• There are not separate shelves and frankly i believe you could but you will only be able to set one temp for the unit so it might be hard to do both at the same time. it does cook very fast though so for a steak and potatoes Id cook the potato first as that would take longer and then the steak . My wife and I have done this several times the steaks cook so fast the potatoes stay hot
