• DO NOT use waxed paper in any type of oven! The wax melts and will start a fire at higher temps. Use parchment paper or aluminum foil.

• We have not used aluminum, but have used other kind of sheets (waxed, for instance) with no problem. I don't see why you would not be able to use aluminum, as it is like an oven. We used aluminum on the previous Air fryer we had, so that part would be covered as well. If anything, and if practical, I would make small holes on the aluminum sheet with a fork or knife to let the heat go through, which would resemble the waxed sheets we have used.
