QuestionI purchased this coffee maker a week ago and while it is brewing it has steam coming out of the top vents— a fair amount and makes pretty pretty much noise with gurgling sounds that is annoying! Is this normal?

- Answer The steam and gurgling is pretty much normal with this and other coffee makers. Sit a cup on top of the lid to warm it during brewing time before pouring your favorite brew and enjoying it.

QuestionHow do you set it to turn off in 4 hours?

- Answer The heating element has a timer which, I believe, is set to 4 hours. You can hit the "warm" button (once to turn off the element, and once to turn it back on) if you want to reset the element timer.

QuestionI currently have a Bella pro series coffee maker and hate it because once the 4 hour warmer timer is up, you can't turn it back on. You have to brew another pot. Can this ninja be turned back on after the unit shuts off?

- Answer Yes. I get up for the gym at 4, the coffee brews at 3. When I get back form the gym at 6, I hit the warm button twice and it restarts the heating element timer.

Questionwhy does the water leak out of the water tank sometimes. I set up the machine before I go to bed and sometimes the water leaks out. What a mess!!!!

- Answer Best place to purchase a replacement carafe is on the Ninja website. We bought one from a different source and it was OK but not an exact replacement.

QuestionCan you make small batch of coffee, 4-5 cups?

- Answer There is a 1-4 cup brew setting. If you want to brew between 4 and a full carafe, just pour in the amount you want to brew. This machine doesn't include the automatic water maker, nor does it have a direct plumbing attachment, so there's no way for it to continue brewing after the tank is empty.
