• If you plan on putting this in a storage area without any other items such as keys or pens, i'd say the screen is strong enough. If you aren't that careful with your devices, i'd get one for the pocket sake.

• Bought a red one and a blue one for my granddaughters for Christmas, I did buy the protection cases but not the screens. The screens seem very substantial.

• Depending upon the age of the person. For my 3yr old I bought a screen protector just to be precautious. My son did play with it for a weeek before I bought a screen protector. After he slid it across the floor and threw it on soft surfaces I bought a screen protector.
