Essentially everything sold in California has to have a Prop 65 label and it’s virtually impossible to make things that completely avoid the list of chemicals defined by California as causing cancer. If you try to sell a product there and you don’t have this label you get sued (extorted?) by plaintiffs lawyers. It has very little do do with whether or not “cancer causing” chemicals are in the product or not. Prop 65 has done little other than line the pockets of a bunch of lawyers.
