• The hot dogs go in a little cage that lowers with them and comes out for easy cleaning. I'm sure you could toss it in the dishwasher even. It's metal, obviously, so can take some scrubbing.

• You just need to wash the hot dog basket and tongs with soapy water after each use. The main unit can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

• You can wipe the top, but just like a bread toaster you can't "clean" the internal parts that do the toasting.

• There is a removable rack that holds the hot dogs.
