• I use the ice from my ice maker in my fridge.. works just as well as any bag ice and you don't have buy it either.

• It takes regular cubed ice from your freezer

• As long as it's not chunky ice. So ice tray from freezer, ice maker or bag ice. The blades are sharp and grind it up really fine. From their experiences as long as it's not a hard chunk because it's a little rough on the machine. All others work fine.
