The device does not record shows like a TiVo that I have found .. but you can have the Hulu app as well as other apps that allow you to watch current tv series. This would still be a cheaper and better option than cable .. all the benefits of cable none of the annoying commercials and worthless show options .. do it ..

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This depends on what services you are using to stream your TV shows. Sling TV and Hulu both have a DVR function for live TV. These function as a "Cloud DVR" so they will not take up the storage on the Nvidia.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have knowledge of the kodi app and can locate online content services it's very capable of being a set top box or dvr. Extra storage will be needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it can. It is not hard to follow directions to do so. The Nvidia Faq page points to how it can be done in a few ways. A usb tuner card and antennae is needed, but the software is all there, plus an external hdd and possibly a big usb flash drive like a nice Sandisk Ultrafit 128gb USB 3.0 drive to take over the duties of the small 11gb internal hdd space.
