“Would it play MKV H.265 movies off an external HDD with Kodi ?”

• Yes, I have 2 8Tb HDD plugin to my Nvidia and using Kodi to play 265 and 264 files, mkv or avi and it works fine.

• It can play H.265 streaming over my network no problem so I would assume an external hard drive should work fine as well. One thing to note, I have had issues with external hard drives on my Asus Nexus Player that ran AndroidTV OS so beware that the hard drive may have issues detecting.

• Yes. I plugged my harddrive with my movie collection and it plays MK, AVI, MP4 AND SOME other files.

• Yes I would say it can do this. Shield runs Kodi very well. retired my old PC Kodi Box
