The voice recognition is only active when you press the mic button on the remote. If you don't use it then it doesn't listen.

If you must prevent this possibility, do not use WiFi. Only configure the box for Ethernet wired access. When you done using the box, simply unplug the cable.
No solution in software or even an electronic switch can guarantee the same level of protection.
