- Answer This all depends on hardware. If your video card.is at least a 10x series rtx Nvidia or equivalent Radeon, yes it can run on a laptop.

- Answer It would work but without depth perception i expect there would be some issues with control accuracy because of the spatial orientation aspect of the vr environment. That would mostly apply to gaming of course.

- Answer The Rift S headset will most likely not work with your laptop and it requires a decent amount of graphics processing power, something only a dedicated Graphics card could handle. Your laptop would have to have a dedicated Nvidia or AMD graphics card and the intel HD or other intel graphics as well as any AMD vega graphics do not have the power to run the headset.

- Answer Nope sorry. The headset will not work with any laptop. It absolutely must be set up on a desktop. The headset will refuse to acknowledge any integrated or laptop video card in an attempt to not harm the computer. I learned this the hard way and spent weeks upgrading and repairing my old gaming pc.

- Answer If she’s asking for a oculus rift s, the oculus rift s requires a windows pc (should be gaming) if she is asking for an oculus quest (1 or 2) you don’t need any pc, the oculus quest is an all in one headset where it has no wires just the headset and controllers and can function. If you don’t plan on getting a windows gaming pc for her, I would recommend getting her an oculus quest,
