I have upgraded its RAM (DDR4 type SIMMs are needed) and its graphics to a GeForce 1080. I intend to replace the laptop-style optical drive with a blu-ray capable one later today. So yes, these upgrades as well as to the main hard drive are all doable.

I first started by replacing the GTX 1060 3GB with a GTX 1060 6GB (didn't want to spend all my upgrade cash on a GPU). These larger GPU's will fit but it will be rather tricky to get them into place. I had to remove a piece of the case just to get the card in and the width of my card no longer allowed me to put the removable side panel back on. Not an issue for me as the open side faced away from where I sit. The motherboard is mounted upside down so any card you get will have the fans facing upwards. This may come as an annoyance to some but overall it didn't bug me. I then, along with my GPU, got a higher quality PSU to aid with any future upgrades. I do not know enough about the stock PSU to say it is bad but I thought I'd be safe and upgrade in order to protect my probably overpriced GPU. Finally I managed to install a 250 GB SSD which was the easiest to install. Ultimately I replaced the case and the computer I have now suits me well.
