“Does this allow HDMI pass thru when the receiver is off? If so, does this receiver automatically detects the signal from the source even when on standby or do you have to have it turned on and switched to the input you wanted before turning it off?”

• Hi.. I have a similar receiver and I have to turn it on so it can detect the HDMI and have to change the input.

• I haven't see the stand by mode on this receiver. However I turn it off when ever possible. Also, if it detects a signal it doesn't turn on automatically. I have to manually turn it on. hope this helps.
