• 2-channel and "home theater" are not exclusive categories: This Onkyo unit is 2-channel, but also has 4 HDMI inputs and an output, and supports 4K.

• I think they use "Home Theater" because when you crank up your music you feel just like you are in a theatre with great sound!!
