This receiver virtualizes 2 speakers for the Dolby Atmos surround sound. Ive found the dolby 5.1 to be a better listening experience than the dolby atmos on this receiver.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While Dolby Atmos sounds best with a 5.1.2 (5 surround speaker 1 subwoofer and 2 height speakers) it can be done with a minimum of 2.1.2. It ultimately comes down to the size of the room. Larger rooms will need more speakers to give smoother surround experience.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While it is true Dolby atmos sounds best as a 5.1.2 or 7.1.2 but it can be done with a minimum 2.1.2. It all comes down to speaker orientation and room size. The larger the room the more speakers that will bee need to create the surround effect.
