A:AnswerIt does require update. On the specs for this amp on Amazon it says right there,"Atmos available with update". Which is R108. My Amp had R106. Some owners say they have R110 which isn't even available to download from Onkyo.I returned this and got a Sony which also needed an update, but it worked! Used then same USB drive too! Pity Onyko has no support. I liked the amp. Oh, well.
