“Here is what I need, hook up Phono, Composite TV inputs(sound), Composite CD player, Composite VHS Player, Composite DVD player. Basically all old school items. When I say composite it is the plug in style. So will this work?”

Yes, this unit will work. You can hook up all your old equipment with this unit. You will have no problems using RCA cables. Hope this helps you make a final decision.
