• The Onkyo Remote app does not work with the TX-NR777. The Onkyo Controller app does, however.

• The remote for the TX-NR777 is IR, so it does need line of sight to the AVR or an IR blaster.

• No it will not. It uses IR so you will need to have line of sight of the receiver to control it. My recommendation would be to buy a logitech harmony remote with IR blasters so you can control it regardless of obstructions.
