“Confused about HDMI "pass through." Can I attach my cable receiver via HDMI input on the TX-NR676 - then route back to TV using HDMI ARC input - and watch TV audio and video with the Onkyo turned OFF? Best Buy guys told me "no."”

Have not tried to do so yet and wondering as well. If you haven't already done so, download the more extensive manual and take a look at the pass through and standby info.
