QuestionDoes anyone use the 'IR in' port on the back? What IR receiver is compatible with this unit? I don't want to use a repeater system if there is simply an external receiver available.

- Answer The receiver does have an IR in jack it will still an IR repeater to power the sensor. We do not have a recommendation on any specific IR repeaters.

- Answer As with all receivers from Onkyo you can not connect to a sound bar systems to the receiver.

QuestionI want to set up a 5.2. 2 on zone 1: I have 2 Klipsch 51M which I will designate as surround back. Can I assign these 2 surround back speakers to Zone 2, and have the ability to control volume only zone 1? only zone 2? and both zones?

- Answer i only use zone 1 , looking at my remote i believe you can control zones 1,2 and 3 volume separately. if you go on the Onkyo website you can download the manual.

QuestionI have 6 sets of speakers (4 sets inside house and 2 sets outside by deck and pool area). How many channels do I need to handle all 6 sets at same time (for parties). Also do I need more channels if I will eventually hook up TV sound system to this unit?

- Answer 12 channels. Your best option would be to buy a separate receiver for your TV. There are a lot of configurations you can use with this unit however. For example, you could set up a 5.1 or 7.1 surround for your TV and output a signal using Zone 2 to a separate 12 channel stereo amp or split it and feed the signal to an 8 channel and a 4 channel amp for your other speakers.

QuestionCan I listen to different media in the multiple zones at the same time. In other words can I have 5 speakers hooked up to the tv inside with 2 speakers outside listening to a CD at the same time?
