“Does anyone use the 'IR in' port on the back? What IR receiver is compatible with this unit? I don't want to use a repeater system if there is simply an external receiver available.”

The receiver does have an IR in jack it will still an IR repeater to power the sensor. We do not have a recommendation on any specific IR repeaters.
