• A:Answer Yes. Porting is $40 one-time without premiere, no charge with premiere. There are small telecom fees, about $5. Premiere is $10. Monthly. With it you get "whitelisting" among many other features.

• A:Answer No, there is no SIM card for this device. This device works over your home wifi & whatever mobile wifi service is available. The Ooma worked but I gave mine up. It is not as good as a landline. Sound quality was good but I connected mine with my cell phone in order to get calls when away from home. When @ home, this became inconvenient because both phones rang. When I answered on cell phone, it required more actions to get to answer the call.
