No, there is no SIM card for this device. This device works over your home wifi & whatever mobile wifi service is available. The Ooma worked but I gave mine up. It is not as good as a landline. Sound quality was good but I connected mine with my cell phone in order to get calls when away from home. When @ home, this became inconvenient because both phones rang. When I answered on cell phone, it required more actions to get to answer the call.
