Should not be needed. It doesn't use that much bandwidth so it shouldn't affect your data usage or data caps.

No. It’s like any device that you use on the internet.

We don't, and I can't see why it would matter for residential users. We also stream our TV channels thru a Roku box, and we don't tell Comcast we are doing this, either. Of course, you could always ask Comcast, but I can't image why it would ever be an issue for a residential user.
