Do NOT cancel your service with your current provider! On the ooma website request a number port and provide them with the current number you wish to port. You will need additional info including account number and port PIN from your current carrier. I had to contact my current carrier to get the PIN. Their stated time to perform this is 3-4 weeks, but ours was accomplished in 6 days. When the port is complete your old carrier will discontinue service. They kept us updated on progress via email. There is a charge by ooma for this service unless you have signed up for premier service. Leave your phones plugged into the old equipment until the port is complete then move the rj11 jack to the back of the telo. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, in fact they tell you to get set up first and then cancel. You can keep your current number or choose a new one. Talk to the reps. They are very thorough and explain everything. I was clueless and they walked me through every step!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want to keep your present phone service but port your current number to Ooma, you will have to have you current phone service provider assign you another number.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't cancel you exisiting phone service. Let ooma take care of the porting first. Once that is done, then make sure that your old phone service is canceled.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. In fact Ooma tells you not to cancel your current service until the porting is complete. They assign a temporary number while the port request is being processed. They keep you informed throughout. Once porting is done they recommend verifying that the porting has automatically cancelled your service with your previous provider.
