how is the unit powered ? null

I assume you mean how do you turn the unit on and off, not how to plug the power supply transformer into an electric wall outlet and the attached cord to the back of the unit. Power (plug in) the unit and it turns on; unplug it and it turns off. That's it. No power switch.
