Does it cost to get a new number? null

You will have to pay for the Ooma service, and they will provide you with a list of phone numbers you can use with the new service, at no additional cost. If you have an existing number, you will need to pay a onetime fee to port this number and make it the one that will work with the new service.

You can get a free number from them. However, it will cost you to port a number. Check their web site for the cost.

Only if you want to keep your old number, it will cost 40.00

You have to sign up online to get a number, which is free, but depending on your location you may have to pay monthly taxes and fees. We pay $4.99 per month here in New York. Otherwise it's free.
