If each of your children have their own iPad, then you will need a starter kit for each child/iPad. The starter kits include a stand and camera mirror that is required for the Osmo apps to work correctly. If you only have one iPad, then a single starter kit will suffice. You can purchase additional apps separately. They will use the stand and camera mirror from the starter kit.

It will only come with one base to sit the iPad on. You can put the app on separate tablets and you can buy just the base from OSMO website for $40 I believe
