“The control base where the glass jar goes is made out of metal? Or is it plastic? I really can't tell by the picture, and I'm looking for metal.”

Its made of metal both the "spoke" and the sleeve on the bottom of the glass pitcher....I use it to make protein smoothies and shakes and it works great.

IT IS PLASTIC, BUT THE GREARS ARE ALL METAL!
