“Does this get very hot anywhere on the outside? I have breathing issues & can no longer use my regular oven as a result. Does this give off any smoke, etc or strong smell other than aroma of whatever you're cooking/baking? Thanks”

Maybe Oster should consider insulating this unit just like a full size oven to cut down on the heat problem and have it vent from just one spot that they claim is the reason for the gap on the front door, which is a questionable answer ! And I wonder if Oster ever installed shatterproof doors yet, I have read of doors shattering on these ovens!

Yes, the exterior of the toaster oven gets very hot while in use, that is why we recommend the unit to be placed in a position where it can get ventilation when it is in operation. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.While it does get hot/warm on the outside when I am cooking in it, I have never seen smoke or had doors shatter! I have used it daily for at least 5 years and have one in our travel trailer, too...and never any sort of problems! Just wish I could turn the light off when things are cooking.
